The London 2012 Olympic Games have now come to an end and the focus of the world will now move away from London, but I think we deserve to pat ourselves on the back for a hugely successful fortnight and a truly Olympic Success Story. Britain’s athletes have their highest medal count since Britannia ruled the seas in 1908, the country has been encouraged by the success and re-invigorated during the tough financial times, the world will now look at Britain differently and with renewed respect of what we have done and what we are capable of.
Hopefully the games will have the legacy that everyone hopes and they truly will “inspire a generation” to live a healthier lifestyle; promoting healthy competition and national pride. It was extremely refreshing to see so many countries and cultures coming together, with only positive attitudes to support their athletes.
From where I am sitting the Olympics were a complete success and event that made me feel Proud to be British.
